Evo Mini's

Evo Mini’s comprises of four key programmes, each targeting young athletes aged 2-6 years of age. Little Ballers (Soccer), Little Ruggers (Rugby), Little Bouncers (Basketball) and Little Splashers (Swimming) are each tailored to providing our youngest learners with the core skills needed to succeed in sport. However we have two core beliefs that we take into every session:

Firstly, we believe in something that we call “Play not Push”. It means coaching in a fun, pressure-free environment. We want to give our players a positive introduction to the sport as a whole, so they’re more likely to stay healthy and active throughout their lives.

EDUCATION through sport

Secondly, we believe that sport can be educational. Coached in the right way it can stimulate imagination and aid early development skills such as learning colours and numbers, following instructions and playing as part of a team. It’s an approach that has helped us to develop greatly since launching in 2007. And like all of our ‘Evo Mini’s', we never stop learning. We’re continually improving and updating our sessions, based on feedback and input from parents as well as our network of sports coaches both locally and overseas.

The ‘Mini's Reward Programme’ encourages young learners to take responsibility for their own learning. Targets are discussed at the beginning of each session, before players are asked to select one which they would like to focus on. Targets are based on the following:
- Listening skills
- Ball control
- Passing
- Dribbling
- Scoring
- Social skills
- Game understanding.
Stickers are used to track completion of each learning objective, which are in turn used to inform detailed termly reports for each player.
