The 2018 / 19 season has seen many new faces arrive at Evo swimming! With 5 new additions to the coaching team, the pool deck is looking very different!
If you haven’t already, say hello! They’d love to meet more of the Evo swimming community!
Here’s a little bit about them all:
Coach Maroua (Al Waab) - Maroua hails from Tunisia and will this year be coaching our senior swim squad. Having competed at the Beijing (2008) Olympics, our swimmers are in the hands of a coach who has competed at the pinnacle of the sport. We’re very excited to see their development this year under Maroua’s guidance.
Coach Earl (Al Waab) - Many of you will already know Coach Earl from last year. Earl was a swim assistant with us at our West Bay campus. Throughout all of last year, he impressed us with his ability to bring the best out of his young swimmers and we saw some fantastic progress being made from those he swam with. We are delighted to have Earl on board full time with us this year!
Coach Aimee (West Bay) - Aimee has spent the last 3 years studying at Swansea University and swim teaching in her spare time as well offering volunteering reading support for those with learning disabilities. Aimee arrived from the UK and has quickly made an impression on our Water Confidence swimmers in West Bay. Each week, Aimee runs a different theme that has kept her swimmers entertained and keen to learn.
Coach Jaeger (West Bay) - Jaeger comes from a competitive swim background and has spent the last few years on a swim scholarship at the University of Nevada in the US. Jaeger trained up to 20 hours a week in the pool alongside her studies and achieved National Champion in 2015. Jaeger is based at West Bay and provides swimmers in both our competitive squads and our learn to swim programme with fantastic sessions.
Coach Liz (West Bay) - Liz also comes from a competitive swim background and has dedicated much of her professional career to swim coaching having completed her degree in Sports Science at Brunel University, London. Liz brings a very professional approach to her sessions and her swimmers are already seeing the benefit of her coaching methods. Liz is based at West Bay and leads our competitive squads alongside Coach Jaeger.
We hope to make each of our new coaching team feel at home with Evo in Qatar and hope that they will stay with us fro seasons to come!
