Evolution Sports Welcomes Olympic Swimmer Nada Arakji!

Did you know that the Evolution Swimming programme was started by an Olympian?

Nada Arakji, a former Doha College student and two-time Olympian, opened Evolution Swimming alongside British Ambassador Michael O'Neil in 2012.

Nada was the first woman to represent Qatar at the Olympic Games! She made history when she participated in the 50-meter freestyle at the London 2012 games. She also had the honour of representing Qatar at the Rio games in 2016.

After trying our many sports, including basketball, ballet and netball, she discovered her real passion when she started swimming at the age of 4.

In 2011 her hard work paid off when she was invited to join the Qatar National Team. From there, she was able to achieve her dream of participating in the Olympic Games.

Nada was named an International Olympic Committee (IOC) "Inspirational Young Change-Maker" for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina. She was also a member of Doha's 2020 bid committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At Evolution Sports, we always welcome Nada as she continues to encourage young people, especially girls, to get involved with sports.

At our impressive new facility in Al Wajba, her words of encouragement for any young learner can be found in our competition swimming pool.

"Be the best you can be, enjoy the process, and you will achieve excellence. Never give up the challenge, and before you know it, your dreams will turn to reality." - Nada Arakji

We thank Nada as she continues to be a positive ambassador of all members at Evolution Sport and aspiring athletes around Qatar.
