Evolution Sports Qatar hosts China-Qatar Youth Football Match

During the first week of the World Cup, Evolutions Sports Qatar hosted an international football match between young players from China and Qatar. The event was jointly organised by Mengniu Group, the Official Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, China Youth Development Foundation and Evolution Sports Qatar. EVO, the largest private sports academy in Qatar, recently marked 15 years of sports delivery, during which it received numerous awards and coached over 48,000 young athletes.

Before the game, the young players were treated to a skilled demonstration of the traditional sport of Cuju, the earliest known recorded form of football, namely a competitive game that involves kicking a ball through an opening into a net without the use of hands. The young footballers wore traditional costumes and thoroughly enjoyed the Cuju experience together. The event was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Qatar, HE Zhou Jian, who said that the opening of the World Cup in Qatar is the perfect moment for young Chinese footballers to come to Qatar and experience cultural exchanges. The participants are not only the hope for the development of China-Qatar football but also future supporters of friendly cooperation between the two countries.

A brilliant exhibition match saw the Chinese youth team fight back from 3-0 down to earn a 3-3 draw. This game has excitement, and most importantly both team showcased core values such as friendship, respect, pride and integrity. At the end of the game both teams shook hands and exchanged gifts – the finishing touch on a valuable experience that fused together hard work, learning and fun.
